Wicanders Cork Flooring
What is Cork?
Cork comes from the bark of the cork oak tree. It is harvested without damaging or chopping down a single tree and is also renewable and sustainable making it really environmentally friendly.
Cork is made of millions of cork cells - each cell functioning as a miniature sound and thermal insulator, as well as a miniature pressure and shock absorber. Cork can regain its shape no matter how much it is walked on as it retains its elasticity.
What makes Cork a good flooring material?
Cork reduces sound, is warm to the touch and comfortable to walk on. It has the ability to regain it's shape as well.
Silence
The cork naturally reduces sound transmission between and within rooms, creating a quieter, and peaceful, environment in your home.
Comfort
Cork is naturally soft and comfortable to walk on. Cork has shock-absorbing properties which relieve strain on your feet, joints, legs and back.
Warmth
The natural thermal insulation properties of Cork make them very pleasant to the touch. They provide an optimal floor temperature all year round, so you can even walk on them with bare feet. |
